Michael Dello-Iacovo is the Animal Justice Party candidate for the Inner West Council in the Gulgadya/Leichhardt ward.
Currently Michael is a PhD candidate in space science, looking at off-Earth exploration, mining and asteroid impact risk, and has training in geoscience and climate science.
Michael has been involved in animal advocacy and climate change advocacy in South Australia and New South Wales for 7 years, and was previously the CEO of international development non-profit Effective Altruism Australia. He is currently on the New South Wales state committee for the Animal Justice Party and the party’s youth wing.
Driven by a desire to support positive change, Michael ran in the 2019 NSW state election in the Heffron electorate, and in the 2019 Federal election as the 2nd ticket candidate for the Senate.
A passionate supporter of the Inner West, Michael looks forward to applying his science skill set to local government to develop evidence-based solutions to problems. He lives in Annandale and is passionate about climbing, which he mostly does at his local gym.
