END ANIMAL TESTING IN NSW

On Tuesday the 25th of February 2020, three primate medical experimentation survivors made an escape attempt from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney - desperately attempting to flee to freedom avoid further painful procedures forced upon their bodies against their will.

These are the faces of animal experimentation here in Australia.

Many Australians are horrified to learn that cruel animal experimentation continues to occur here in our country, paid for in part through taxpayer dollars. Every year millions of animals are subjected to painful, invasive procedures, often being born and dying in these research facilities.

Animals including primates, cats, dogs, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, birds, fish, reptiles and native animals all suffer as prisoners within one of the most hidden of all animal-use industries. These animals are used for cruel experiments into radiation, organ transplants and infection - and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

With animal testing being shown to have up to a 94% failure rate compared to other - humane - scientific methods, including stem cell research and computer modelling, it’s time to end this horrific cruelty once and for all.

Together with our MPs Emma Hurst and Mark Pearson, we’re fighting for an end to animal testing here in NSW and urging the NSW Government to urgently fund humane alternatives including stem cell research and other technologies.
