About Us
Who are we?
The Animal Justice Party was established in 2009 in response to growing public concern over the abuse, harm and mistreatment of non-human animals across Australia.
We aim to give a political voice to animals, to pursue the vital issues of animal protection through Australia’s political system and to encourage political parties to adopt animal-friendly policies.
Our MPs, members, and volunteers lobby for tougher animal protection laws and increased penalties for convicted animal abusers. Together we fight for better regulations around the trade of companion animals and advocate for better education and awareness of the treatment of animals.
All members of the Animal Justice Party believe in the core principles of Kindness, Equality, Rationality and Non-violence.
Together we’re fighting for a brighter future right here in NSW: for animals, the environment and ourselves.

What We Do In NSW
We have a vision for creating an ethical and equal future for animals, environment and people here in New South Wales.
Approximately 80 per cent of national, state and local legislation affects animals. Whether it’s kangaroo slaughter, intensive factory farming, puppy farms, animal testing or the live export trade, AJP NSW is there to make sure animals come first in our state legislation.
Following the election of Mark Pearson MP in 2015, we have already seen incredible changes for animals here in NSW. Now we have two MPs in Parliament, we are ready to achieve so much more!
