Dear Member,
On World Kangaroo Day, we are celebrating kangaroos and raising awareness about the largest commercial slaughter of a native animal in the world.
Monday 24th October, 2022
Manly Beach
11am-1pm
We would love to have as many members and people as possible to advocate for the protection of kangaroos on World Kangaroo Day. We have the banner, corflutes, flyers, leaflets, drums, facts, chants and people who want to see a moratorium on the slaughter and resulting damage caused to family structure, health and behaviour of our iconic kangaroos. Let's urge the Minister for Environment and Heritage James Griffin MP to protect kangaroos from the insidious and violent commercial kangaroo killing industry.
Let's protect joeys from decapitation, predation and bludgeoning. Let's protect mob structure and the future health and viability of our beloved macropods. Let's change outdated colonial attitudes that serve nothing more than to create pain, suffering, destruction and violence.
We are meeting at Manly Beach opposite Starbucks Cafe to raise awareness of what goes on under the cover of night and to visit the office of James Griffin to let him know that we know what he is allowing under his watch in NSW. We demand that he protect kangaroos and place an immediate moratorium on their ongoing persecution and resulting massacre.
