Join the Fight to End Greyhound Racing: No More Excuses, No More Delays

Greyhounds are gentle and loyal companions, deserving of our respect and love. Yet, the greyhound racing industry subjects them to a life of exploitation and suffering. We are committed to ending barbaric abuse. The Government is spending taxpayer money to support an industry that causes immense animal suffering. It's time to demand change.

Greyhounds Deserve Better

Greyhounds are not mere athletes; they are sentient beings capable of forming deep bonds with humans. Despite their gentle nature, they are often subjected to harsh conditions in the racing industry. Many are confined in small cages, deprived of social interaction, and subjected to grueling training regimes.

The industry's focus on profit over welfare leads to widespread neglect and abuse. Greyhounds that are no longer deemed profitable are often discarded, leading to high death rates and abandonment.

Greyhound Racing in NSW (2023–2025)

  • 2023: NSW recorded 42 greyhound deaths during races, with many more injured or killed off-track.

  • 2024: The industry reported 17 deaths and 4,223 injuries. In the first month of 2025 alone, four greyhounds were killed, and 322 injuries were recorded.

  • 2025: The Taree track became NSW's deadliest, with 17 greyhounds dying in racing incidents, including seven at the track and ten killed off-track.

The Industry's Failures

Despite claims of reform, the greyhound racing industry continues to prioritise profit over animal welfare. An independent inquiry in 2024 revealed significant issues, including poor track standards and inadequate veterinary care.

A report by former GRNSW chief vet Alex Brittan highlighted misrepresentation of rehoming numbers and failure to report greyhound deaths. These findings underscore the systemic nature of the industry's neglect.
