In 2015 we made history when the Hon. Mark Pearson was elected to the NSW parliament. The first person in Australian history to be elected on an animal protection platform.
Around 80 per cent of national, state and local legislation affects animals. Whether it’s kangaroo slaughter, intensive factory farming, puppy farms, animal testing or the live export trade.
The AJP is giving a voice to animals in the NSW parliament by introducing the following bills:
Banning the use of primates for medical research;
Right to Release giving cats and dogs that have been experimented on the opportunity to find a home;
Banning exotic animals in circuses; and
Introducing mandatory monitoring systems, CCTV and fire sprinklers in intensive farming industries.
