Email Your MP: I Support the Open Letter to End Greyhound Racing at Wentworth Park
Wentworth Park is Crown land that should serve the community, yet it continues to be used for greyhound racing, an industry linked to ongoing injuries, deaths and gambling harm.
- In 2024 alone, five greyhounds died on track at Wentworth Park and over 390 greyhounds were injured at Wentworth Park.*
- So far in 2025, 13 dogs have died on NSW tracks and more than two dozen have died after suffering serious racing injuries. More than 3,400 injuries have been recorded, by far the highest total in Australia.*
A wide range of organisations, leaders, MPs and community groups have signed an Open Letter calling for an end to greyhound racing at Wentworth Park when the lease expires in 2027. The letter urges the NSW Government to return this Crown land to the community and implement the community-led vision for a safer, greener and more accessible public space.
By sending a message to your local MP, you can show that you personally support the Open Letter and want Wentworth Park reclaimed for genuine community benefit.
